We’re proud to share that we are now a certified Carbon Neutral business, in partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain. This demonstrates that we have taken a proactive approach to offsetting the impact of our emissions and working together towards a brighter, ‘greener’ future.
But what does ‘Carbon Neutral’ really mean, how does it affect us as a business – and you as a customer?
Carbon Footprint Calculations
The first step we took towards becoming Carbon Neutral was to calculate the volume of our emissions. By understanding our impact, we’re then able to work on how best to mitigate and offset it. For this, we underwent an independent audit to ensure all calculations were accurate and could be verified.
We’re then able to work with the three largest and most regulated carbon offsetting projects worldwide – Verra – Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the Gold Standard – Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) and the United Nations – Certified Emission Reductions (CER) programmes. As a result, we’re taking proactive steps to make a real difference to the environment.
Looking to the Future
While we’re now certified Carbon Neutral through Carbon Neutral Britain, our work isn’t over – far from it. Here at the Rocal Group, our attention now turns to the future. Along with other companies who are a part of this scheme, we’re actively working towards achieving net zero emissions across Britain in line with Science and Government-led targeting for Carbon Reduction Planning.
